Clarifying notes on Arnheim and the (unpublished) Encyclopedia of Cinema
Here are listed the entries of the Encyclopedia of the Cinema written by Arnheim. The Encyclopedia, planned in the ’30s by the Istituto Internazionale per la Cinematografia in Rome, has never been published because of the war. Drafts were lost. A description of the Encyclopedia of the Cinema is published in the first issue of «Intercine»:

The reconstruction of Arnheim’s contribution to the Encyclopedia is based on the bibliographies compiled by Helmut H. Diederichs and his correspondence with Arnheim. Where indicated, articles are included in the various editions of Film as art.
